VOLUNTEERS

Interfaith Social Services relies on a strong volunteer workforce to carry out its mission. The agency has about 250 volunteers who work at a variety of jobs. Some are in direct client service in the Pantry Shelf, the Career Closet and the Faith in Action programs.  (Please see descriptions of these programs on the Food Pantry, Clothing Program and Counseling pages of our web site).

Other volunteers provide assistance with clerical duties and building and ground maintenance.

Still others help with fund raising activities.  The Annual walk-a-thon, for example, requires about 125 volunteers to organize, register, act as crossing guards, etc...

Our Board of Directors and its committees also involve a number of volunteers who set policy and oversee the ongoing work of the Agency.

The common denominator of the volunteers at ISS is their commitment to services that benefit our neighbors in need.

Volunteer opportunities are available for persons with an hour of more a week or are just available occasionally as for an event or to help with a mailing.  You are sure to find the experience a rewarding one.

How To Get Involved!

  • Roll up your sleeves and join an Interfaith Social Services Committee (community outreach, interfaith relations, fundraising, etc.)
  • Organize a food drive at your place of work.
  • Invite your civic group to volunteer at the Pantry Shelf, the Bureau Drawer, the Career Closet or as companions in the Faith in Action Program.

If you have some time to give and would like to be a part of our efforts to help neighbors in need please fill out the following information and we will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.
